Road Poets Bio

Road Poets is a seriously rockin’ good time with thoughtful, provoking lyrics. Think Neil Young and Crazy Horse meets the Talking Heads. They play bluesy, riff driven tunes written by lead singer, Dave Teichroeb. The occasional ballad. Poetic songs about Gabriola, aging, broken homes, travelling, climate change, love, technology, and the pandemic get woven in.

The band showcases a diverse range of Gabriola talent: Dave Teichroeb (guitar/vocals), Kelly Field (bass) and Andreas Kahre (drums) . It’s not uncommon for musical guests to be added in at live shows. Road Poets is currently recording a ten song album with Gabriola recording engineer/producer Ron Cote. The guest list is impressive for the recording: Nico Rhodes, Brad Shipley, Tina Jones, Stephen Fearing, Lewis Melville, Brian McMahon, Andrew Clayden, John Gresham, Jeff Bird, Chris Jams, Kath McIntyre and Steve Knox

Road poets are three lifetime professional musicians. Dave Teichroeb on guitar and vocals, Kelly Field on bass and Andreas Kahre on drums. Teichroeb’s approach to music has always been to write a song, record the song and perform the song live. Bluesy folk/rock with thought provoking lyrics. Road Poets live deliver riff driven story songs with great bass lines and inventive drumming –  Songs about Gabriola, aging, broken homes, travelling, climate change, love, technology and the pandemic. Road Poets first album is recorded and being mixed right now by Ron Cote.
